HydraLux is Aquamatic’s slatted automatic cover system that uses extruded rigid PVC slats instead of a traditional fabric-and-leading-edge-bar setup.
This slat design eliminates the rope/track and leading-edge-bar interface used on many traditional automatic covers and can be used on pools that previously could not accept an automatic cover. Aquamatic also states HydraLux can be cut to converging shapes, which opens up options on more complex layouts.
HydraLux is positioned by Aquamatic as an automated energy savings device and not a safety cover. If a project requires an ASTM F1346-91 safety cover, Aquamatic directs that requirement to the Hydramatic system.
Because HydraLux integrates into the build and relies on correct geometry, it needs early coordination around the details that affect fit and operation, not guesswork after finishes are in.

I’ve been installing automatic pool covers for over 10 years, working on everything from straightforward builds to complex vanishing edge and perimeter overflow projects. I have hands-on experience with hidden track systems, concealed vault lids, hidden leading edge installations, and specialty finishes like stone and tile lids with stainless steel trays.
